Business spirit is considered a key factor for economic development and university students constitute a group of vital importance for the development of entrepreneurial activities. In recent years, an increasing number of university graduates do not find work in the areas in which they develop their studies, so self -employment constitutes an opportunity to relieve work pressure and reduce social burden. Given the importance of entrepreneurial intention in young university students, several have been the studies that address the entrepreneurial intention of students; However, research that has examined the intention of undertaking in public and private university environments are limited. In this sense, the present research aims to analyze from a comparative perspective the entrepreneurial intention between students of the University of Cuenca and the Catholic University of Cuenca, two institutions of public and private higher education. To verify if there are significant differences in your intention to undertake the Chi2 statistical test will be applied for qualitative variables and the T test for quantitative variables to 1200 students between the two universities. The data will be collected through a structured questionnaire. The results will evidence the entrepreneurial intention of the university students of the public and private environments of the higher education institutions object of study.
