Description

Emotional intelligence is a complex construct that is being appealed as an antidote of violence and in particular in the educational environment, where students and teachers interact to train generations. In times of pandemic, it is worth putting into practice skills like these, especially because fear is a latent and evident emotion when health is at risk. This project aims to evaluate the emotional intelligence and its dimensions in students of the psychology careers of the four Universities of Cuenca-Ecuador from the validation (criteria and construct) and reliability (Cronbach Alpha) of the Wleis-S Emotional Intelligence Scale, in the participants of this research. It is a transverse analytical study. The population is 2709 students from the careers of clinical, educational, social, work, organizational and psychology psychology, of the four universities. It will work with a sample of 921, a statistically obtained figure with a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. A socio-demographic file will be used to explore some variables related to COVID19; The Wleis-S, to evaluate the perceived emotional intelligence in four dimensions-Spanish version of the Wong and Law's Emotional Intelligence Scale (Extremera, Rey and Sánchez-Alvarez (2019); 16 items Of the Happiness Scale of Lima de Alarcón (2006) and depression through the Beck II depression inventory (2011).
