In a multicultural and multiethnic society such as ours, spaces are still generated to articulate the knowledge and practices of Western medicine and ancestral medicines within the health model, this work presents an inter -institutional collaboration proposal with the Ministry of Health to integrate Western science with Andean knowledge, in a dynamic process of analysis and reflection on purpose of the study of chronic pain and its treatment with medicinal plants. The guide conceptual referent is symbolic interaction and critical theory to understand the laws and principles of the Andean worldview and Granda's hermeneutics to interpret knowledge and present them in horizontal dialogue with science. The methodology highlights experiential visits in 4 communities in the region: Ingapirca in Cañar, Ayaloma in Azuay, Méndez in Morona Santiago and Saraguro in Loja with the men and women of Andean wisdom and the population; Then the data will be systematized using computer programs such as the ATLAS-Ti and the coordination of the research team, in addition they will feed the advances and proposals in workshops, forums and seminars in the community and in the university promoting dialogue and intercultural debate.
