Description
The need to identify the areas affected by food insecurity remains a concern in all countries of the world. Rural populations have a higher risk of food and nutritional insecurity, so this research aims to evaluate food insecurity in the rural area of the Paute River basin, belonging to the province of Azuay. Surveys will be carried out, the Latin American and Caribbean Food Safety Scale (ELCSA) will be used methodology described by the (FAO 2012). In addition, the food pattern will be established in homes by means Food categorization The dietary diversity guide established by the (FAO 2013) will be used, with which the nutritional status of the homes of study subjects will be established. They will constitute a baseline for future investigations, as well as establish the pattern of consumption in homes by providing a greater understanding of the food situation and identifying whether there is nutrient deficiency and therefore family malnutrition in those in the rural area of the Paute River basin, belonging to the province of Azuay.
