The need to identify the areas affected by food insecurity remains a concern in all countries of the world. Rural populations have a higher risk of food and nutritional insecurity, so this research aims to evaluate food insecurity in the rural area of the Paute River basin, belonging to the province of Azuay. Surveys will be carried out, the Latin American and Caribbean Food Safety Scale (ELCSA) will be used methodology described by the (FAO 2012).
