Project Details

Description

The project arises from the successful results of the Vlir World Heritage City, evaluation carried out from October 2 to 3, 2017 in Cuenca, Ecuador, where the crucial role of cultural heritage was supported to achieve the so -called Good Living. In addition, it was revealed that the role of intangible traditions of collective management in local communities, such as Minga, Ayni among others, constitute an unleashed resource with potential to create better governance approaches that contribute to the sustainable management of traditional architecture and living conditions. In this sense, the objective of this project is to deepen the understanding and activation of traditional Andean knowledge about organizational principles of collective management in the Ecuadorian southeast region. The project combines traditional Ecuadorian knowledge with science, based on an approach that emphasizes interdisciplinary participation, as well as the participation and capacity development of the relevant sectors in different areas of study (citizens, communities, organizations). This co-creation approach to innovative government guidelines guarantees that the results developed are user-oriented and have a long-term vision and roads for political, public and private actors, which is found in the line with the strategy Vlir -os to sustainable development.
