Today Cuenca is home to many people from several places in the world who come to settle in the city by not finding good life alternatives in their countries, but when they arrive they find a situation not very different. The Hearts of Gold Foundation develops support activities for vulnerable people who seek to achieve greater equity in their participation and inclusion within society through educational programs and thus can overcome different problems that are faced, being the teaching of English one of the activities that the Foundation supports and encourages. In this context, the application of a critical pedagogy, based on the strengthening and assessment of the identity of each person to potentiate their abilities and focus on strengthening their living conditions, and thus being able to improve these in both personal, family, social and economic fields, in addition to educating in diversity to achieve social equity, it becomes the key piece to teach English to these vulnerable people As agents of change to contribute in the creation of social solutions.
