Description
This project deals with the study of the impact of afforestation on the ecology and the floor of Páramo in the High Andes of the Ecuadorian Austro, it is justified in view that allows to see the impact of afforestation with exotic species (pine) in this fragile ecosystem. The objectives of this study are to investigate such as trees and how their development has changed vegetation and chemical properties and (hydro) soil. For this, soil characteristics will be compared in plots under different use, being afforestation with pinus patula, grass and agricultural use but in similar conditions in terms of weather, Edaphology, topography. This study will describe the main changes in wasteland characteristics, after afforestation; Estimate changes in biodiversity and the floristic composition of moor vegetation; Calculate carbon fixation and estimate the performance of Pinus Patula plantations over 3500 m.
