History of Psychology at the University of Cuenca

The history of psychology is a line of research within psychology that aims to rescue the historical facts that have marked the development of this discipline in different contexts; An important aspect within this line has to do with the history of the training of psychology professionals. The first psychology career of Ecuador was born in the fifties at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Central University. In Cambo, psychology at the University of Cuenca was born a few years later within the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Education Sciences at the end of the 1970s; Since then several have been the degrees offered and historical landmarks until the creation of the Faculty of Psychology in November 2008 that marks an advance in the development of discipline in our university. The object of study of research is psychology at the University of Cuenca. The research is to systematize the history of psychology at the University of Cuenca, which would be around four decades, the different aspects that make up that story, which has somehow been forgotten. In research approach it will be mainly qualitative of historiographic type. The systematized information will contribute to the consolidation of the identity of the Faculty of Psychology, will be a source of consultation for students and teachers, as well as the support of the different training projects in the degree and postgraduate.
