Towards a new aesthetics from Latin America: design production, visual, musical, theater and dance works.

Produce design and works of art from Ecuador and Latin America, with a new aesthetic that does not discard but incorporates the best of western contributions as well as ancestral knowledge of Amazonian bread - whose matrix we even come as a Andean world - is one of the greatest challenges of the present, for several reasons. First, because we have been permanent consumers of design, arts and culture, - of symbolic production, in general - which has prevented us from discovering how we have become what we are. Second, because most of the products we consume have no quality, which implies being accomplices of the racist budget that the crowd can consume any bagato. Third, because it is necessary to produce art and design that connects with the feelings and sensibilities of that crowd and that the crowd feels identified with them. This new artistic production finds one of the best scenarios for its development in an arts faculty such as that of the University of Cuenca, where designers, artists and art theorists meet, have technological tools, so they can investigate both the western and the Amazonian perspectives that constitute us, to produce new designs, plastic, musical, theater and dance works, and link with a community that is globalized with a community What is imperative to rediscover our multiple origins to meet the needs present as much as to project ourselves to the future. Design and art can respond to these social demands and must do it now. This is our challenge and our challenge. To do this, they attend this project: designers and artists, art historians, aesthetics and culture, critics, pedagogues, teachers and students, musical composers, actresses, actors, willing to propose a new aesthetic from Ecuador and Latin America.
