Strengthening of the Business Research Group

The need in the population lies in the ignorance of the behavior in local and regional economic activity, due to the extension of markets, which affects the increase in competition and uncertainty. Technologies evolve more quickly, markets and new forms of management arise and companies disappear due to their inability to adapt rapidly in the face of changing conditions. On the other hand, public companies in Ecuador and in Cuenca do not have an updated, broad and sufficient accounting framework, as already exists in other economies, that is for mandatory and standardized use, and uniquely establish the unit costs of public services. The Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of the University of Cuenca, through the Research Department, has developed a set of activities to contribute to business performance, productivity, competitiveness and success strategies of companies, paying special attention to their behavior and evolution. It has also contributed to the sustainable growth of companies in an innovative and responsible way.
