Strengthening research for the conservation and management of built cultural heritage

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

It is recognized that research is a fundamental task of the university, since it constitutes the propitious space for critical analysis, production, transmission and use of knowledge. Precisely with the formulation of questions, with the search, inquiry and critical reflection, through a systematic research process, the university is called to form students capable of learning and thinking about local reality while acquiring new knowledge. In this sense, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Cuenca in its eagerness to strengthen the research activity and after several experiences in the execution of projects carried out both individually and group, formed, complying with the administrative and regulatory formalities, the Faculty Research Center. Additionally, the Board of Directors approved the Plan for the Investigation Directorate and the Faculty Investigation Lines. Once advanced in these first essential steps of the process and with a view to operationalize its continuity, the Faculty Research Directorate proposed as a viable option for this reason the formation of permanent research groups around the lines already approved and in which the research activity of degree and postgraduate is inserted. This has been contributing to these activities being carried out articulately with a much more proceedings of teachers and students, which exceeds the dispersion of isolated efforts.
