Description

Given the current degree of adoption of information and communications technologies (ICTs), they can become useful tools for different human groups. This project aims to integrate ICTs for the evaluation of learning in food, exercise, social networks, as well as the development of prototypes for the monitoring of vital signs and medication taking applied to people over 65 years. Interpersonal relationships: The person when reaching an advanced age, usually hosts retirement with which the interaction with their co -workers and friends is affected, as well as with their family due to situations of widowhood or that their children do not live with them, this creates a sensation of loneliness or abandonment that can trigger in depression among other consequences that can be avoided through interaction with people who share their interests, needs or hobbies. To do this and make use of the Cedia network, this project aims to disseminate, train and motivate the use of social networks that allow continuous, timely and even welfare contact, with the elderly either among their friends or family. As a result, it is intended to train and encourage the use of social networks to improve the interpersonal relationships of the elderly. MEDICATION TAKE: One of the most common problems facing the elderly is in terms of taking their medicines, either by factors such as forgetfulness, confusion, etc. For this, this project includes the development of a prototype that reminds and doses the proper taking of medication. In case of oblivion, it is intended to send alarms by telematic means to one or more people, so that they take the actions they deem appropriate in this situation. Monitoring of vital signs: Because older adults belong to a vulnerable group, their physical mobility is affected, which hinders access to continuous checks of their vital signs in medical centers. To facilitate access to this information by medical staff, it is expected to develop prototypes for the monitoring of body temperature and heart rate. Lifestyle: It has been thought to create a solution that allows to improve people's lifestyle in terms of their physical activity and healthy eating, through a technological environment that allows to train on these issues to the elderly, in order to achieve a diffusion of healthy lifestyles.
