Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The International Network "Active-Healthy-Kids-Globa-Lallance" (AHKGA) aims to promote physical activity (AF) in populations between 5 and 18 years through the creation and dissemination of a "qualifications report", as an effective tool for information and community makers. The methodology proposed by this network has been applied in 38 countries with promising results, and consists of: a) Compiling the country's existing information about 10 standardized AF indicators, through a review of academic and government literature, b) Evaluate the indicators by a panel of national experts (academic and government) in AF and c) Disseminate the results of the evaluation through short reports through short reports. Ecuador for the first time is part of Ahkga (October 2017), having as a representative the research group Food, Nutrition and Health of the University of Cuenca. In this context, this project aims to evaluate government and academic evidence, related to influential factors in the patterns of physical activity of children and adolescents in Ecuador, through the methodology proposed by the international network "Ahkga". The expected results are: i) academic products such as 1 scientific article, 1 presentation of a summary in an academic event, and a first unified database of all policies, programs, strategies, decision makers and experts in the AF area of Ecuador, and II) Dissemination tools such as infographics or reports, which will serve for a digital dissemination of the results.
