Project: Research

Project Details

Description

With this project we want to study the notion of well -being in contexts of functional diversity taking as an universe of study of young university students from the University of Cuenca. We propose a mixed (quantitative/qualitative) study that is deployed in three moments: in the first - through workshops that use artistic resources - we will study how they perceive the notion of young well -being with different types of disability in university contexts. Then - through semi -structured interviews, social cartography and focal groups - we will explore the sense of well -being as a relational notion in the classroom, family and society when the stigma of disability mediates. And finally - through a quantitative study of the database of students with disabilities of the University Welfare Directorate - we will analyze the physical, environmental factors and the health situation to deepen the knowledge of well -being of people with disabilities. The purpose of this investigation is double: on the one hand to understand more fully and deeply the implications of the sense of well -being, and thereby contribute to the theoretical and epistemological reflections on this subject from an experienced experience (disability); And on the other to locate and weigh the elements that undermine or favor the feeling of well -being in a context of higher education in order to offer the university community inputs to enhance or improve their levels of social inclusion.
