Description
In the current economic and social context of the world and specifically in Ecuador, domestic child labor has been seen as a family subsistence strategy, in the face of high rates of poverty and destitution and lack of employment, which has generated that thousands of children and adolescents are involved in this area, even knowing to be victims of various types of violence. The problem is that the exposure of girls and adolescents linked to domestic child labor generates different forms of violence and inequities of gender which affects its integral development. Despite this, the domestic service remains one of the most common ways to occupy girls, a difficult population group to protect, since their work is done in private homes, which is not considered work but an extension of the obligations they have in their homes, thus refusing the rights they have as minors. International law grants rights such as: playing, health, being safe from abuse and sexual harassment, visiting their family or being visited by it, to meet with friends, decent accommodation and protection against physical and mental abuse. These girls are normally exploited and subject to hard working conditions somewhat difficult to discover for developing in private spaces. Faced with this reality, the objective of this project is to identify and critically analyze the different forms of violence to which girls and adolescents linked to domestic child labor in the city of Cuenca are exposed, in order to develop an intervention proposal to contribute to the prevention of this form of child labor exploitation. For the achievements of this proposal, the I Irenic position will be used, through the application of qualitative techniques such as: Semi -structured and in -depth interview Socio -economic surveys and finally with review of secondary sources. We will work with an interdisciplinary and gender approach. It should be noted that in the place where this research is planned, there is no studies carried out previously on the problem to be investigated.
