Description
Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of premature mortality in Ecuador representing about 30% in 2011, in addition, according to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) 30% of the Ecuadorian population runs the risk of suffering from some caridovascular disease. These diseases are the result of an interaction between genetic, behavioral, environmental factors and obesity, being recognized as cardiovascular risk factors. Determine the association between behavioral factors (diet, behaviors, food, physical activity and smoking), biological (body adiposity, fasting glycemia, glycosylated hemoglobin, lipid profile, hyoma insulin sensitivity and blood pressure) in cardiometabolic health in Ecuadorian adults. Transversal study with a sample of 4298 individuals between 19 and 64 years, to be developed in 13 hospitals located in 8 provinces of Ecuador. Sociodemographic, anthrometric, clinical and lifestyle will be taken through the use of semi -structured questioning, the data will be taken by qualified and well -trained personnel. All volunteers must sign the informed consent and a diagnostic document of their nutritional status with recommendations to improve their lifestyle will be given. Until October 2021, data on dietary intake, food behaviors, level of physical activity, smoking, body adiposity, fasting glycemia, glycosylated hemoglobin, lipid profile, sensitivity to homa insulin and blood pressure, which will be associated with metabolical cardio health in Ecuadorian adults will be obtained.
