Project Details

Description

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, with its Agronomic Engineering career, currently has an agroecology research center and hydrographic basins; The integral soil management group being an integral. The research group currently has a soil laboratory, which was initially implemented with university cooperation funds for the development of the Kingdom of Belgium (Ciuf-Pic Project) "Strengthening of scientific and technological capacities to apply spatially integrated schemes of water and soil management, adapted to the socio-economic-cultural-cultural and local physical reality"; Project that was executed within the framework of the Interinstitutional Agreement No. 007-2010, signed on the 20th day of May 2010, in a strategic alliance with the Belgian universities of Leuven La Nueva, Lamur and the Ku Leuven, national counterparts were the National Secretary of Water-Hydrographic Dimar Santiago and the University of Cuenca-Faculthe of Agricultural Sciences. The CUD project within the contractual deadlines has ended, leaving three doctoral research, several scientific publications, training courses to students and technicians of the Faculty and local institutions. The investigation and lifting of the information has been carried out in experimental sites located in 3 micro-cuencas within the Paute River basin: Micro-Cuenca del Río Llavircay (Rivera Parish), micro-cuenta of the Loreto creek in the area known as Pichacay (Santa Ana Parish) and micro-cuenta of the Cachihuaycu creek near the town called Caldera Caldera (Parishes: Xavier Loyola and Solano, Cantones: Azogues and Delegation, Cañar Province). The experimental sites described have been temporary, so it is the interest of the group and the faculty, to implement permanent experimental sites (microbasins), in which all knowledge sciences converge in their water-environment-environment relationship. In this regard, the National Secretary of Water-Hydrographic Demark Santiago, who has the competence of water-stake, has expressed interest in working together, both in research, transfer through links of links with the community.
