Project Details
Description
In this project we intend to achieve a deeper understanding of the theoretical-practical process of teacher training for EGB in the Faculty. We are specifically interested in how the relationship between theory and practice during training is handled, with a view to the preparation of future teachers capable of carrying out educational innovation processes in the region. The research will cover a set of important aspects of the teacher training for EGB: the career plan, study programs, applied strategies, various concepts managed, mental models and student learning. This research will help us to specify implications for teacher training in the coming years. The investigation will have a qualitative approach. It will be carried out with the teachers of the Bachelor of EGB, with a sample of the students of the promotions from 2005 to 2008 and graduates, and with a sample of teachers of practice schools. The responsibility of the research will be in charge of a group of teachers of the same Faculty, who since September 2008 have already been working on the Educational Innovation Project (PIE). Those responsible will be supported by an external researcher. It will also have the help of students. An ethnographic design will be applied. The main methods for information collection will be: analysis of documents, questionnaires, interviews and focal groups. We also plan to make some observations and debates with involved. The results to which the project points are systematized information about the most relevant aspects of the teacher training carried out in the Faculty, considering the perspectives and contributions of the different actors. The expected results will finally lead to a set of guidelines for the adaptation or renewal of teacher training.
