Description

This is a Bimodal research project, which integrates teaching, research and linking to the community through therapeutic intervention to families in the areas of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in mental health. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: The school performance of the schools of five primary education centers will be correlated where the teaching practices of social work careers and family orientation of the Faculty of Jurisprudence of the University of Cuenca are carried out, with the functioning of their respective families. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To achieve the general objective, in the first stage of the project, students in the fourth, fifth and sixth basic will be identified, with problems in their school performance, and then make the functional diagnosis of their families, from the systemic perspective. In order to establish correlations, another group of students will be studied, who do not present the aforementioned characteristics, and their respective families to establish comparisons. It is a transectional and correlational study. In the second stage, of the project, the families diagnosed with dysfunction will be referred to the Family Social Care Center of the University of Cuenca in order to receive interdisciplinary intervention according to the structural systemic approach. These families will be monitored for 9 months. The impact of the intervention will be observed. A qualitative study will be carried out to families with severe dysfunction through in -depth interviews and case study. Expected results: Improve the quality of life of the families beneficiaries of the project, improve teaching and decision efficiency through research and intervention, generate new scientific knowledge for family intervention, strengthen the functioning of the Family Social Care of the University of Cuenca, created in April 2009.
