Description

Higher education institutions must contribute to the transformation of society, through the training of professionals with knowledge and capacities that allow them to provide answers to the needs of social development and contribute to the formation of a citizenship prepared for human coexistence respecting differences. Within this framework, the project "Perceptions of students with disabilities on the barriers that limit their access, permanence and discharge in institutions of higher education and the exercise of their right to equality and non-discrimination" seeks to analyze the conditions of educational inclusion of people with disabilities in higher education institutions of Ecuador, during the 2019-2023 period. To do this, a qualitative methodology based on analytical induction that allows to analyze in depth how students with disabilities perceive their environment, based on their interpretations and meanings. The results of the research are expected to serve as input to propose policies and programs of inclusion that guarantee the access, permanence and discharge of people with disabilities in the field of Ecuadorian higher education.
