Double load of malnutrition and metabolic syndrome in Ecuadorian individuals between 10 and 59 years of age

The high prevalence of chronic diseases in Ecuador together with the nutrient deficit in the different age groups need to be analyzed with detail. Objective: Explore the association between the double malnutrition load evaluated by different criteria, and the presence of metabolic syndrome or alterations in cardiometabolic risk factors in Ecuadorian individuals between 10 and 59 years. Methodology: Analytical cross -sectional studies from the database of the National Health and Nutrition Surve Consultative Group. Then the metabolic syndrome and its components will be evaluated, according to the cutting points for adult population defined by the consensus of the International Diabetes Federation. Expected results: They are expected to have data to raise proposals to improve the nuronement of Ecuadorians and the inhabitants of the region who share this same situation.
