Description

This project aims to design, develop and implement an information system that allows monitoring the built heritage of the city of Cuenca, with an approach to preventive conservation. To achieve this objective, different methodologies and technologies studied in recent years within the framework of the World Heritage Cities (VLIRCPM) will be used; As well as tools that have been developed and used by the Municipality of Cuenca, in particular by the Directorate of Historical and Patrimonial Areas. With those who will work together for the implementation of this tool that effectively supports the patrimonial management and decision making on the built heritage. This investigation is scheduled to be carried out within 24 months. Time in which a baseline will be established with the identification of the relevant and available information for the historical areas of Cuenca; Which include diagnoses, catalogs, multimedia files, plans, representation models, etc. This base information must be purified and placed according to different communication protocols, which will allow transferring and making use of all available data and information, under considerations of scalability and interoperability. In this way, knowledge bases can be feedback; Viabilizing extensions and deepenings in the management model established under the perspective of prevention and monitoring. For the analysis of the information, technologies will be used in the field of geospatial information, which would allow consolidating a monitoring system to different urban scales (sector, apple). Finally, the system will be validated in an area of study that will be established jointly with the researchers of the Municipality of Cuenca. The research will be developed in the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, under the line of patrimonial conservation research.
