Design of intelligent inclusive learning environments based on affective computing and neuroarchitecture. Study case: Faculty of Architecture

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Many university students travel daily from cantons and rural parishes, which implies a high cost in time and resources that often cannot cover. As a result, these students spend all day on university campuses without an adequate place to perform their academic tasks or have a quality time during the permanence within the university campus outside their class hours. This project seeks to address this problem by designing spaces that can be easily replicable and adaptable, to optimize the educational environment through the integration of advanced technologies and innovative design principles. These environments will be designed by combining affective computing with neuroarchitecture. As for affective computing, it will be implemented by using facial analysis, voice tone recognition, questionnaires and brain computer interface (BCI) sensors; With the objective of adjusting the classroom environment according to the emotional needs detected. Neuroarchitecture will guide the classroom design, considering aspects such as lighting, color and spatial design, which can influence the well -being of the student. The classroom will be designed with flexible spaces for individual and group work, in addition to relaxation areas to manage stress. Accessibility and inclusion will be priority, ensuring that all students, regardless of their needs, can benefit from the environment. In addition, technological devices and Internet of things (IoT) will be incorporated into the design to increase environmental intelligence and study tools. The project will include a continuous evaluation phase through surveys and pilot tests to adjust the design according to user feedback.
