Description

In the last decades, globally, the orientation of technical university careers, such as engineering, has changed slowly towards a training where a complementary and not separated approach is incorporated from the fields of social sciences and humanities. Therefore, this project aims to seek an update and innovation in the formation of civil engineering within the National Higher Education System, through interdisciplinary curricular design with CTS approach -science, technology and society. The course will be intended to integrate in the current training offered to civil engineering students relevant elements from the Social Sciences, which complement the purely technical dimensions, given that the technical problems that engineers seek to solve or are oblivious or separated from social reality. The project proposes qualitative investigation through which information will be raised nationally and internationally, which will serve as a basis for rigorously building the curricular design of the course in question. The process will be carried out with the formation of an interdisciplinary team at the local level and the advice of international experts on the subject.
