Diagnosis of the need for periodontal treatment in the inhabitants of the city of Cuenca

The project aims to evaluate the periodontal treatment needs in adult patients who spontaneously attend the health centers of the city of Cuenca and the clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Cuenca, from October 2008 to July 2009, determining the relationship with age, gender, occupation, profession, reason for consultation, level of schooling, hygiene habits and smoking. The Community Periodontal Index (CPI) will be used examining all the present teeth, by using the WHO special periodontal tube (controlled pressure who PDT Sensor Probe Type). The following age variables, gender, study level, reason for consultation, occupation, hygiene habits and smoking habit will be considered.
