Development of a supervisory control strategy for the UCEM cement mill circuit, Guapán Industrial Plant

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The final step in the cement manufacturing process consists in the transformation of the clinker into cement flood. A rotary mill with steel balls is used for this purpose. FEED WITH POCOMATERIAL The mill produces inefficient use of balls, friction between them and unnecessary energy wear. An excessive load could produce clogging. The correct operation and control of this stage allows to generate efficiency in the cement plnata, minimizing the consumption of electricity and delivering a final product within quality specifications. This project proposes the development of a centralized supervisory control strategy, to attend the operation of the cement mill. The control strategy is developed on an industrial computer installed in the plant and is connected to the industrial network of the system. Supervisor control sends slogan points calculated in real time to distributed control systems installed in the process.
