Description
The proposed research aims to study how different scientific data, linked to local knowledge related to current disasters, may translate into community information, which can be used in the risk assessment process in disaster administration. By linking (1) the current scientific data that is available in the different sources and agencies / institutions in Ecuador and (2) the local knowledge that exists, the research has as its most extensive objective the development of a disaster management plan at the community level. In this case, a pilot project on the development of a disaster management plan will be directed at the municipal level. A community of the selected canton will be used as a practical case. In this way, this project demonstrates a practical investigation in the field of disaster risk management in the Ecuadorian context
