Description
The present research project aims to rebuild the history and background of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cuenca since the end of the 19th century when they begin to form, due to an institutional and academic response the schools of Fine Arts in the country, until the last decade of the twentieth century. Likewise, it is intended to know the cultural and artistic context that the city of Cuenca lived in this period and what were the artistic scenarios that made up the social dynamics of these institutions. The approach that will be used combines elements of research in historiographic techniques such as long duration and microhistory after arduous work collection work in files and the selection of primary and secondary sources to proceed with the analysis and dissemination of data. One of the virtues of the project is the proposal of an interdisciplinary work where research in social sciences converge with the design and use of new technologies for the dissemination of results. As a scope of the project, a multimedia product will be designed as support for the results taking advantage of the use of ICTs as tools conducive to educational processes in the digital age and as an integration with the technological culture of the current generations. The investigation will allow to reflect on the continuity and artistic practices around Basin compiling the social speeches of which the different actors were participants and the attitude that society maintained over them; In the same way, the idea of re -founding the new Academy of Fine Arts on the basis of memory history will be screened. In contrast to what happens with other Latin American countries, ignorance about artistic culture in Ecuador is notorious outside its borders. In spite of the efforts in the last decades of several researchers, historians, artists or curators to make known within the country the different artistic scenarios throughout Ecuadorian history, I would dare to affirm at this time, that historiography is limited and fragmentary since there is great bibliographic production on some periods and artists, at the same time, that great historiographic lagoons especially at the regional Urbanos Quito and Guayaquil
