Building sustainability in agroecological social ventures in the province of Azuay, Ecuador

At present, the world faces an unprecedented health crisis, the global propagation of Coronavirus has impacted the world economy strong. In this context, collective work constitutes an opportunity for the sustainability of life, where entrepreneurs with social approach, charge relevance because they are generators of opportunity through the articulation of spaces of social innovation and creativity oriented to the consolidation of new contexts of economic, social and urgency to protect the environment (López de Toro, 2014). In this context, the University of Cuenca through the Acordes Program, the Catholic University of Cuenca through the Itess Program and the Eloy Alfaro de Manabí University in articulation with the Higher Technological Institute of the Social, Popular and Solidarity Economy, the Higher Technological Technological Institute Wissen, the Southern Popular and Solidarity Economy Network, the Ecuadorian Populorum Progressium Ecuadorian Fund, Intercultural Association, Intercultural Association. Pumapungo propose to develop the research-intervention project with the theme "Building sustainability in agroecological social ventures in the province of Azuay, Ecuador" which aims to "strengthen good agroecological practices and organizational practices that guarantee social, economic, cultural and environmental sustainability of the agricultural and solidary economy organizations of the province of Azuay, in order to face the post-Pandemus crisis. Research is based on a plural definition of the economy from the criteria of good practices for the application of agroecological and popular economy principles, generating a process of strengthening the sector in the framework of generating knowledge and in -depth analysis of sustainable agroecological and organizational practices for the exchange of experiences and transmission of knowledge with multiplier effect. Actors and influence the development of competencies and skills that lead to the growth of human capital of organizations.
