Proambiental behavior in pregnancy, childbirth and early childhood and its relationship with mental health and quality of life: an integrated approach to sustainability

Climate change significantly impacts world public health. Women in the perinatal stage and their children in early childhood are especially vulnerable, with greater risks to their mental health and quality of life; However, there are few studies that comprehensively address mental health, quality of life and pro -environmental behavior to create healthier and sustainable environments. This project aims to determine the relationship between psychosocial factors and the connection with nature, on positive mental health and quality of life for pro -environmental behavior that favors sustainability. The project will take place in two phases. The first will consist of a quantitative, observational and cross -sectional study, with a sample of at least 247 women from centers and hospitals in Cuenca, selected with 99% confidence and a 1% error margin. Advanced statistical techniques will be applied for data analysis. In the second phase, a quasi-experience and longitudinal study will be carried out, which will include the implementation and evaluation of a psychotherapeutic intervention with intervention and control groups. Women of the first phase and their young children (4-5 years) will be invited, reaching at least 12% participation. The intervention will integrate cultural and indigenous practices related to perinatal care and pro -environmental behavior. The statistical analyzes will focus on knowing the effectiveness using pre and post test measures, together with assistance and retention rates, always respecting ethical considerations.
