Description
The Faculty of Architecture of the University of Cuenca has been rethinking the teaching process in our faculty at the mesh level (macrocurriculum). Among the most felt weaknesses detected on the teaching of the architectural project are: disarticulation of the subjects and the contents of the subjects of the graphic, technological and theoretical areas critical, de-actualization of teaching methods and lack of architectural methodology, lack of interrelation with the environment, lack of academic dialogue, lack of realism of plans, among others. Hence, the project will make a contribution to this rethinking regarding the articulation of manual graphic expression with subjects such as: theory and architectural design workshop, because the current teaching does not offer the conditions and quality expected in its approaches of designs with expressive aesthetic language in the fields of architecture, urbanism and restoration. Research will break down, develop and analyze the contents of the pensum and tie with the different topics to be addressed in the graphic expression from the microcurriculum. This rethinking of the teaching process will allow to lead to objectives, methods, techniques and goals, so that in the light of the new established standards, qualitative improvements in teaching are achieved. The main objective of the project is to give the importance that the drawing by handed hand deserves as a phase prior to the digital drawing, so that it is a tool for dialogue with the architectural reality and is also an efficient instrument of exploration and synthesis of concepts, ideas, emotions and knowledge prior to the design of the architectural project. To enable the execution of this research, a theoretical and systematic review of the relationship between 1) will be made the manual graphic expression with the architectural project and 2) manual graphic expression with architectural theory and criticism. Efforts will be concentrated in teaching, learning, criteria used, development and evaluation of the architectural project and the relevant and effective application and use of the different systems and means of architectural representation The research will be developed in three stages: 1) Conceptualization and theoretical research, 2) Internal evaluation or self -assessment and will culminate with the 3) Preparation of the alternative proposal that subsequently allows an external evaluation or by pairs. The results of this participatory research will be disseminated through four teaching booklets, to teachers and mainly students, who have expressed the impossible need for a unified document.
