Description

Considering that the reports of the national and international evaluation programs applied to Ecuadorian students report deeply worrying results, it is urgent to carry out actions that contribute to reverse this problem. In this sense, the present study aims to characterize the mathematical modeling processes developed by sixth year of basic general education of the educational units: Inter-American and CEBCI bilingual, with the purpose of advancing in the current knowledge on the subject and contributing to the improvement of the teaching-learning processes of mathematics. The study will have a qualitative approach, a combined methodology of case study and design -based research will be used, the techniques that will allow to collect the data will be mainly the participant observation and documentary review. The data will be analyzed by a content analysis. The results will be socialized with the participating educational units and with the Ministry of Education with the aim of contributing scientific evidence for the respective decision making.
