Description

Epilepsy, the stigma of suffering from it, the effects of therapy, myths and prejudices built around it in different cultures, affect the quality of life of patients who suffer from it, being the group of children, the most vulnerable. Since there are no studies on the subject in our environment, it is proposed to investigate the quality of life of children and adolescents with epilepsy that go to the Regional Epilepsies Center ¿Ciudad de Cuenca, during the year 2004, to based on the results obtained rethink their management and propose strategies for psychopedagogical, economic and health support for the solution of their problems. The patient and their parents' interview system will be used, and the quality scale of life in the child with epilepsy (Cave), proposed by Herranz and Casas, will be applied as an assessment instrument.
