Project Details

Description

Following the last approved career plan, in order to strengthen flexible education and to address the vocational preferences of the students, this project proposes the development of an academic activity to be fulfilled at the end of the moment of consolidation (sixth/seventh cycle) by the students of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Cuenca. This academic activity derives from the workshop that was carried out with Dr. Josep García entitled "Games and Impossible", and the experiences of the research published by the Faculty in the book "Graphic expression as a fundamental tool for innovation", together in the last chair of graphic expression IV. From these workshops three different actions and productions are derived. One of them is the creation and production of experimental games and toys that have the ability to provide adequate habits to the skills that students must acquire in the different subjects. The second is the recreation of inventions of antiquity for comparison with the inventions of the industrial revolution that have replaced them and that are not sustainable and with current inventions, framed in the field of sustainability. The third action is the detection of anomalies in the use and operation of the habitable space and the experimentation of possible solutions. The project aims to encourage student research towards the development of creativity, technological innovation and architectural criticism from the drawing and the different visual communication options, the game, the model and space interventions. Each of these three different actions and productions will have the advice of experts in each area. To make this research viable, the new contents of the pensum will be analyzed and will tied with the different topics to be addressed in the "optional workshop" from the microcurriculum. This rethinking will allow the integration of a "Chair of Neo-Disciplinary Research and Experimentation on Creativity and Architectural Innovation" (C.I.E.N.C.I.A.) with three different aspects. The best results of this ideas bank will be disseminated through active participation in fairs and competitions; Through small semiannual publications, indefinitely and permanently by the Faculty; Through the concretion of academic articles, games and toys that will be donated to schools. Subsequently, these ideas may be deepened and specified at the level of undergraduate and mastery or patent thesis, or in academic and scientific articles.
