Project Details

Description

The project aims to innovate in the construction of low -cost sustainable housing, specifically wood, meeting international habitability demands (humidity, lighting, temperature, acoustic, among others), to improve the quality of life of few families with few economic income, who would be the beneficiaries of these technologies. Modular homes will be projected that allow the cost of construction to be reduced, through the sustainable use of wood, understanding as a renewable material, which by having adequate exploitation and production processes, can be an effective solution to the problem of the housing deficit that affects our country. The purpose of research is to introduce low -cost homes in wood Bioclimatic attributes that are not taken into account to date and that are referred to the quality of construction, taking into account environmental aspects (geographical location, climate), socioeconomic and cultural, in order to guarantee a better quality of life to their occupants and energy saving. Wood housing will be projected with modular elements, less than 100 m2 of construction area, prepared by an interdisciplinary team of researchers from the Faculties of Architecture and Engineering, with specialized knowledge in the field of housing construction, wood construction, architectural design and in the energy use in homes, which will collect and analyze relevant information, will know the research carried out in other countries, through an international seminar dictated by experts Latin Americans on the issue of social interest housing. They will analyze in the laboratory the applicability of the proposed ecnologies that will be framed in the budgets usually restricted for this type of housing. For this purpose, orientations, disposal and areas of ventilation and sunset, thermal and acoustic comfort, physical and mechanical conditions of the materials with laboratory support will be studied. At the term the architectural projects of the homes will be delivered, with a virtual modeling.
