Description
At present, the globalization and opening of markets, force national companies to compete with imported products. The prices of raw materials and electricity are increasingly high and impact on the economies of companies, which seek cost reduction alternatives. Among the best options at hand is the "efficient use of energy, through eco -efficiency methodology", because without reducing production levels, consumption is rationalized and optimized, and the attached cost. The use of efficient energy has a direct involvement in the environment (by reducing emissions from thermogeneration). In the world there are successful experiences of companies that have dabbled in the field of eco -efficiency with interesting revenues. This is about reaching the implementation of permanent programs that show an optimization of productivity/consumption/environmental impact relationships. This study will analyze the general form of electric power consumption in at least 10 food companies in the city of Cuenca, framed in the Eco -Efficiency Diagnostic Methodology of the "World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)", followed by the analysis of consumption records, statement of facilities and electrical industrial equipment and instrumental analysis; Then improvement proposals will be developed based on good productive practices and efficient use of the resource, as well as technological innovation, considering terms of economic feasibility for its implementation in each company, they will finally be evaluated of the impacts generated. The study will generate data of productive and energy reality for this type of industries, which is a valuable contribution for the environmental advisory management that local and national governments raise, and may be replicated in food companies and various productive items, as well as by the community in general.
