Project Details

Description

At present, the allocation of resources for emergency response, by the responsible institutions, is carried out as they are reported ;; Without a projection in the allocation of resources that allows, either, to reduce response times through the anticipated allocation of resources to areas with a greater probability of occurrence of incidents, or adopt policies that decrease such probability. The prediction of events and incidents, through mathematical models and data mining techniques, enables a better administration of the resources assigned to attending local emergencies. Despite its importance, studies that allow the prediction of events and incidents are incipient in the country. This project proposes to investigate and/or develop specialized mathematical methods and models for the prediction of emergency events, which will be implemented in a software tool, which integrates high performance computing techniques. The prediction of events or incidents can be achieved only through the analysis, application and validation of models to a real emergency database. In this context, this project will be carried out in conjunction with Coordination personnel of Zone 6 of ECU 911, who in addition to providing the database, will participate in the development and validation of mathematical models.
