Description
Allergic diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis and food allergy are more common among people with atopia. Atopying or sensitization (individual or family tendency to sensitize and produce immunoglobulin and specific against common allergens) tends to begin mainly at an early age such as childhood and currently affects the 20th of the world population. In recent decades, an increase in atopy and allergic diseases has been evidenced, which could be explained by the interrelations between predisposing genetic factors with certain environmental conditions such as the characteristics: (i) internal climatic of the buildings, (ii) meteorological, and (iii) external environmental. Therefore, the general objective of the present study is to analyze and represent mathematically and graphically the interrelations between the internal, meteorological and environmental climatic characteristics with the awareness of inhalation and allergic diseases in children from 3 to 5 years that attend the initial education centers of the urban and peri -urban areas of Cuenca. An observational cross -sectional study will be carried out in a sample of 561 children from 30 initial education centers. In children it will be measured: (i) atopia by means of cutaneous tests of immediate reading using extracts of standardized aeralegins, and (ii) allergic diseases (asthma, rhinitis and atopic dermatitis) by applying validated surveys (ISAAC) to parents or representatives of children. The environmental conditions to be measured are: (i) the interior microclimate in the initial education centers, evaluated by in-Situ climate parameter measurements and lifting of questionnaires of physical and pathological characteristics, and (ii) quality of ambient air and the weather conditions, by means In the city. Continuous variables will be expressed in averages or means with medium deviation or interquartile range. In the cases that apply, the results will be compared with current regulations. Finally, the information collected in the various components of the study will be stored in relational databases that allow the union of tables through primary and external keys, and then be used in the creation of the web computer system.
