Mental health and physical health are interdependent dimensions that influence greater or lesser extent in the health and well -being of the human being. Promoting mental health implies attending socio -emotional, behavioral and cognitive competences. This research focuses its work on groups that are in specific contexts, with the purpose of achieving greater impact. This study will analyze emotional intelligence skills, mind theory and reading skills in social environments organized in the Cuenca canton, Azuay province. A multimodal methodology that combines questionnaires, cognitive evidence and file for sociodemographic analysis will be used. A representative sample of the local population will be selected, focused on educational units and municipal care centers. Students over 9 years of age will be considered, their families and the educators responsible for each space. Aspects such as the perception, facilitation, understanding and emotional management, the ability to understand and attribute mental states to others, and the level of school reading competence will be explored. This research will announce its variability and impact on everyday life according to each organized social environment. Their potential implications include the situational diagnosis of the population especially in these three variables, to contribute to the promotion of mental health, well -being, the training of educators, and the social progress of the community.
