Academic performance evaluation is a fundamental issue in higher education. However, the mere measurement of skills and intelligence must transcend, considering contextual factors that influence educational experience. In this perspective, it is necessary to explore and analyze the contextual factors that impact the performance of university students to improve the learning process. The importance of psychological, biological, and social factors in the evaluation of academic performance in which aspects such as emotional intelligence, eating habits, family context, social inequalities among other significant influences to understand how contextual factors impact on academic performance intervene, and thus improve the design of learning environments, assign resources effectively, address inequalities, and contribute to the development of solid theories. The general and specific objectives seek to analyze the relationship between contextual factors and academic performance, identify socio -economic factors and describe the biopsychic profile of students and evaluate the association between these factors and academic performance. For this, an investigation is proposed with a quantitative approach with an observational and correlational design with students from two national universities and an international. Finally, the results are expected to help improve the understanding and approach of the incidence of these factors in higher education.
