Attitudes towards the sexual diversity of school adolescents in the city of Cuenca

This research aims to know what are the attitudes of acceptance, or rejection of the LGBT community (lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans) and the factors linked to these, in school adolescents in the city of Cuenca and their teachers; A mixed, multimodal approach will be used; For data collection, a mixed survey will be applied to adolescents to know how LGBT individuals and the factors associated with these attitudes are evaluated; And a survey to their teachers about their attitudes towards the LGBT community. The surveys to apply will be mixed, the closed questions will be for quantitative analysis and open questions for qualitative. In the quantitative analysis in the first instance it will be descriptive where the percentages of the dependent variable, generated attitudes and of the independent variables: stage of adolescence studied, type of school, knowledge about it, the LGBT community, religion, religios School teachers; In the second instance, the relationship of each independent variable (possible factors) will be inferred on the dependent, and in a third instance and by multivariate analysis it will be detected if there is influence between groups of factors in the attitudes found. The qualitative analysis will be through thematic analysis, in which it will identify, analyze and schematize relationships between the codes and the theories found in the data. Once these analyzes are carried out, they will be unified for their discussion, analysis and generation of known. This information will help us not only to find which and how marked the attitudes towards sexual diversity in adolescents are, but also to determine what are the causes for which both hostility attitudes are generated as an attitudes of acceptance in our environment; For knowing these factors will give us the starting point to counteract inequality, homophobia and strengthen attitudes of equality and respect for diversity in this sexual case, thus promoting sexual health and healthy minds open to differences, with respect to others and their identity.
