    Research interests

    I am a lecturer and researcher at the Physiotherapy Program of the University of Cuenca, and a member of the Research Group on Sexual and Reproductive Health. My research focuses on pelvic health physiotherapy, women’s health, and the rehabilitation of urogynaecological dysfunctions.

    My work explores the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor disorders in women, particularly urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. I integrate clinical, technological, and public health approaches, emphasizing the use of digital tools, biofeedback, and movement analysis for early detection and functional rehabilitation.

    I maintain international collaboration with Ghent University (Belgium) through projects funded by the Global Minds Fund and the VLIR-UOS programme, aimed at developing gamified devices and digital screening tools to strengthen pelvic health physiotherapy in Ecuador.

    My goal is to contribute to scientific evidence and the development of innovative strategies that promote health, gender equity, and improved quality of life for women.

    Personal profile

    I am a physiotherapist and researcher committed to breaking taboos surrounding the female body and promoting pelvic health as an essential part of overall well-being. I work from a feminist perspective that defends women’s right to know and care for their bodies, and that seeks to transform healthcare environments into fairer, more inclusive, and gender-sensitive spaces.

    My work is guided by the values of empathy, equity, social commitment, innovation, and transformative education. I believe in science as a tool for social change, for making invisible issues visible, and for improving women’s quality of life.

    I value interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with fields such as electronic engineering and with international universities, as these exchanges broaden the scope of physiotherapy and enrich research aimed at promoting health and well-being.
